Are we seeing the beginnings here of an unholy trinity of Mackey, Kavanaugh, and Antoine Mitchell?

K is going over the line. He’s bound to slip up now. And that witness is SO going to die this season. Mark my words.

My sister, who follows the show more closely and knows everybody’s name and stuff, made a great observation:
She thinks K didn’t call the DA during the interrogation, but an accomplice. And is unthinkingly about to hand over the phone to the suspect, who will check the dialed number and see it’s not the DA.
And that, of course, will bollix whatever case they were talking about.
With all due respect, though, I’m guessing that will be unnecessary. He clearly went off the deep end, and for a very unprofessional reason. Although at first viewing I respect and admire the stand he took with his ex.
Said ex, by the way, was played by Gina Torres, who was Zoe in Firefly–an utterly different persona. Torres gets a lot of props from me for that. Um, I’m probably the last to know this. Too bad.
Forest Whitaker also gets my Actor Seal of Approval: he actually weeps. Most actors do a good job of wailing and thrashing around, but few shed tears. Whitaker doesn’t get a perfect 10, for which you are required to start with a dry face, and generate tears before our eyes, with no cutaways. But he came very close, snot and all, and even if they were makeup, at least somebody went to the trouble to put them there.
No tears instantly kills a crying scene for me.

I predict that the witness will explode while desprately trying to put a spoon and pin back in a grenade. While the participants on this board were probably simply pleased that the writers knew that once the hammer hits, there’s nothing that you can do to the fuze, you have to wonder why the writers set up that fact.
I agree, Gina was great, I’ve also been liking Forest alot.
Trivia, which cast member has an academy award?

My bad. Didn’t actually WIN the Oscar, but was up on stage thanking everyone with the people who did.
