Viva La Pants!

One of the criticisms I’ve seen of John Kerry is that he would be a tool of the Europeans. People have said that he would, in effect, cave to European and International interests in exchange for “cooperation.”

Well, he’s not President and we just gave in to the French in exchange for “cooperation.” I guess this means French Fries are back on the menu! Oh yeah, there’s nothing like good ole’ French Fries and thick, rich Heinz ketchup to dip them in.

I suppose it’s for the best, because those Freedom Fries were taking too many liberties with my digestive system.

  1. It’s even simpler than that. Having felt my skin crawl in embarrassment following the “I’m John Kerry and I’m reporting for duty” line, the fact is that Kerry wouldn’t be a tool - he’s clearly one already.

Now I pray to whatever God might be up there that he wins (or, more specifically, that Bush loses) in November. But that was the most pitifully staged piece of raw corn I’ve heard in a long time and tool is the only way to call it.

Been dying to get that off my chest…on a mildly more serious note, if there are any Americans here who haven’t already made up their minds, how did it play with you? Am I missing a cultural subtlety or was it just a godawful piece of speechmaking?

  2. Neither side is more than reacting to events. Neither the Democratic nor the Republican party are governed by an philosophy other than to grab the power. The only two intellectuals I can think of in party politics during my lifetime were Barry Goldwater and George McGovern. So compromise with the French isn’t too bad. After all, they bailed us out in the American Revolution.

And, yes, it was a pathetic acceptance speech. It is said he writes his own speeches. I believe it. I’ve known brave men that people call heros. Never once, have I heard one of these men refer to himself as hero. JFKerry tells us he is a war criminal or hero or ordinary guy or whatever he thinks the audience should hear. gag gag gag.

  3. That’s giving in? What the heck am I missing? That’s one of the fifteen bones from the little gristly part of the chicken wing that nobody eats that we just threw them. Seriously, do we REALLY need to be in charge of ALL training? Why?

  4. You know what, Sarge? You remind me why I learned to be glad God made officers.
