Jim C. gives examples that are hard to argue with.

But we must FIGHT NOW with the tools the Founding Fathers gave us (esp. the 1st Amendment) if we wish to avoid having guns used in the future. It is towards that goal that you (Sgt Mom) and I put in so many hours on the Tea Party. I don't want to have to choose between being shot and shooting people.

I ask all reading this: What are YOU doing to prevent eventual blood in the streets?

Wake your neighbors and families up! There has been more happening this week than the deaths of three celebrities!

Unfortunately I don't think we are far from this in the US. Far too many consider themselves to be above the law. We have zealots murdering doctors in churches, groups like ACORN that continually break the law yet are never stop from doing it again and again, the "lion of the party" that committed vehicular manslaughter, his nephew that bought his way out a rape charge, and a former president whose famous quote on perjury was "it depends on what your definition of is is", and a sitting president who merely waved his hand and invalidated contractual law.

Civilization is a thin skin on savagery and the skin is being stretched thin these days.

The election was actually stolen when the mullahs culled all the "unacceptable" candidates.

Mousavi and his backer Rafsanjani are also thieves and murderers, just not as rabid as Khamenei and Ahmedinejad.

They represent a different faction within the Iranian regime, against Khamenei and the Revolutionary Guard (IRGC).

This faction includes many of the more conservative mullahs. Really: Khamenei is not a real ayatollah. See
<a href="http://newledger.com/2009/06/will-iran-get-the-revolution-it-needs" rel="nofollow">Pejman Yousefzadeh's excellent summary.</a>

The mullahs (especially Rafsanjani and his relatives) have grabbed most of the economy, but now the IRGC is pushing them aside.

BTW, I think "gelded" is the appropriate adjective. Any press operating in these countries learn quickly not to offend the regime, lest they lose "access".
