Daily Kos commentators yesterday were blaming “Bushco, the neocons, and halliburton” for hurricane Katrina, suggesting that the President knew, that he lied, and that because of this, people died. It was near the full moon, and the moonbats were definitely out in full force!

Don’t tell me you missed the uber-right site which reckons that the eye of the storm looks like a fetus, and was God’s revenge on the abortionists of the South (complete with stats on the number of clinics etc in the area)? The wingnuts had to move quickly on that one before The Onion made it up as a joke.
In related wingnuttery, a friend reminded me that it was Pat Robertson who once described Scotland as a “dark land run by homosexuals”. I reckon what we should do is:
a) encourage some half-witted religious group to invite him to the UK
b) imprison him when he gets here for encouraging acts of terrorism
c) refuse to deport him as Gitmo (where the other terrorists are) doesn’t meet normal judicial standards
d) lock him up with one of the mad mullahs.
Celebrity Religious Nutcase Deathmatch!
I’d pay to watch.
Anyway, I reckon Andy Murray (our new Scottish tennis hope) puked on court yesterday because of Bush’s policy on Iraq. How’s that, Timmer?

Damn. Missed the obvious one. Bush causes hurricane as he’s heard New Orleans is full of French people…

Bush activates “atomic hurricane”, the latest weapon in the so called “war on terror” to distract from Mother Sheehan’s desperate bid to surrender to terrorist “freedom fighters.” Rumors persist of a document known as “Plan Luthor” in which the last vestages of noble free thinkers and progressives in California will be removed to secure Bush’s hegemony. Carl Rove denied such rumors, but would not deny the exsistance of a giant supercomputer hidden in the grand canyon.

No, that was me and my Free-Mason friends practicing our super-secret “Anti-Catholics-for-Science” dance. Didn’t you read The DaVinci Code?

When I read that the oldest person on Earth had died the other day, I blamed it on President Bush. (Sarcastically, of course)

“It appears that the money has been moved in the president’s budget to handle homeland security and the war in Iraq, and I suppose that’s the price we pay. Nobody locally is happy that the levees can’t be finished, and we are doing everything we can to make the case that this is a security issue for us.”
– Walter Maestri, Jefferson Parish Emergency Management Chief, 8 June 2004

“I don’t think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees.” -President Bush

So because some budget dweeb in the Federal Government turned off the faucet of good money after bad on a failing system of flood prevention, it’s the President’s fault that the storm surges took out that failing system?
I’m thinkin’ that city should have been evacuated as soon as the first computer models came out in the 1990s that showed anything over a Cat 3 Hurricane was going to do exactly what Katrina did. And no, I don’t think it was Clinton’s fault that it didn’t happen that way.
Another $250B isn’t going to make that area safe from a hurricane much less $250M.
