They say that NCOs aren’t happy unless we’re bitching.  This guy over at Blackfive is absolutely ecstatic!!

Things that I am tired of in this war:

I am tired of Democrats saying they are patriotic and then insulting my commander in chief and the way he goes about his job.

I am tired of Democrats who tell me they support me, the soldier on the ground, and then tell me the best plan to win this war is with a “phased redeployment” (liberal-speak for retreat) out of the combat zone to someplace like Okinawa.

I am tired of the Democrats whining for months on T.V., in the New York Times, and in the House and Senate that we need more troops to win the war in Iraq, and then when my Commander in Chief plans to do just that, they say that is the wrong plan, it won’t work, and we need a “new direction.”

I am tired of every Battalion Sergeant Major and Command Sergeant Major I see over here being more concerned about whether or not I am wearing my uniform in the “spot on,” most garrison-like manner; instead of asking me whether or not I am getting the equipment I need to win the fight, the support I need from my chain of command, or if the chow tastes good.

I am tired of junior and senior officers continually doubting the technical expertise of junior enlisted soldiers who are trained far better to do the jobs they are trained for than these officers believe.

I am tired of senior officers and commanders who fight this war with more of an eye on the media than on the enemy, who desperately needs killing.

I am tired of the decisions of Sergeants and Privates made in the heat of battle being scrutinized by lawyers who were not there and will never really know the state of mind of the young soldiers who were there and what is asked of them in order to survive.

I am tired of CNN claiming that they are showing “news,” with videotape sent to them by terrorists, of my comrades being shot at by snipers, but refusing to show what happens when we build a school, pave a road, hand out food and water to children, or open a water treatment plant.

I am tired of following the enemy with drones that have cameras, and then dropping bombs that sometimes kill civilians; because we could do a better job of killing the right people by sending a man with a high powered rifle instead.

And there you have a good chunk of what’s wrong with the Global War on Terror.  When I first heard that we were “starting” to target Iranians causing shit in Iraq my first thought was, “Are you fucking shitting me?!!!”  We’re just STARTING to mess with these motherfuckers?

I swear to Christ I need to either stop reading the news or start drinking heavily.

  4. You know, “And I would’ve gotten away with it, if it wasn’t for you meddling kids!”

It’s blaming others for your own failures. In this case, we’d have won in Iraq if it wasn’t for those damned liberals and the media. Nevermind that those damned Democrats and the media didn’t plan and execute the war. God forbid you hold the people who made all the actual decisions responsible for anything.

Jesus, if the guy can’t find a pen, does he blame the Democrats and the media for stealing it?

What if it burns when he pees? “Dammit, those Democrats gave me the clap again!”

What if the KBR guy won’t give him a second scoop of mashed potatoes at the chow hall? “Dammit, if you didn’t have to keep one eye on the media, you’d give me the mashed potatoes I need to do my job!”

  5. This is why I ask questions, filing Scooby Doo Syndrome away for another time.

I do see him blaming quite a bit of leadership while he’s at it.

The fact that we’re just getting around to changing the ROE and going after Iranians, completely freaks my shit. I mean seriously, WTF?

  6. Yeah, but it’s that typical, “The leadership won’t give us what we need” stuff that you hear all the time. I don’t know, man, but that stuff is fine if you’re just some E-nothing peon, but this guy should have dropped the suffering servant shtick a couple of ranks ago. He’s not Clint Eastwood in Heartbreak Ridge. Plus, that whole blaming the Democrats and the media thing is cheesy.

There’s a lot of things about conservatives and Republicans I don’t like. I find quite a few things some of them say to be morally repugnant and anti-American. But I can still recognize the good things that Republicans do and accept that they do have a few good ideas that are worthwhile. More than that, they are an opposing viewpoint, which is vital in a democracy. I abhor One Party Rule and would not like to see conservatives disappear from the scene. They represent the voice and viewpoints of a good portion of this country that should not be ignored or swept away out of hand.

By the way, my alarm didn’t go off this morning. Believe you me, I wrote a strongly-worded letter to the Democratic leasdership about that — not that the MSM would ever report it.

  7. As far as the Iranians in Iraq go: wipe ‘em out. I wouldn’t go into Iran, but I’d sure as hell kill or capture any Iranians I’d find in Iraq, because they’re doing the same thing to us.

  8. Reading about fighting insurgents in days gone by is interesting - one I remember is our lot (the British) tying Indian insurgents across the muzzles of cannon before firing - pour encourager les autres and all that. I’m sure the guys on the ground in Iraq do find it frustrating not being able to “just do it”, but unfortunately for them this is a hearts and minds war too.

No sympathy for your man on the Democrat whining though. His CinC attacked a country which hadn’t attacked the US, wasn’t a threat to the US and didn’t contain the people who did attack it. Not only that, since then he’s sacrificed the lives of over 3000 Americans, the best part of a trillion dollars and has made life less safe for all of us. So, well…f*** him, basically.

Mind you, f*** any Iranians on a “working holiday” in Iraq too. Worth tying to a cannon muzzle at the border in fact…

  9. In fighting the war in Iraq, we did not have the best strategy in place to deal with the insurgency. Mistakes were made by the administration; however, at least they took a stand. As for the Democrats, decent is fine and I agree with it completely but when you question the troops on the ground and tell us that we are losing the war it does have cause problems. The media did not support this war so they did anything they could to undermine the troops as well.

It is funny that most Democrats and Liberals say that we should do what ever the United Nations says we should do. Well they passed 17 different resolutions and did nothing to back it up. That makes them a joke. Just look how Iran, North Korea is acting right now. They know the UN will do nothing except spout out a lot of hot air. If the US acts on its own again then once again we are the bad guys. Sitting down with these people will not change there actions. WHY CAN’T YOU PEOPLE GET THIS TROUGH YOUR THICK HEADS? If I am determined to beat your ass then there is nothing that you can say that will change my mind.

As for the WMD’s they had them at one time and they tried to show the world that they still did. If I recall correctly and I know that I am, every intelligence agency said the same thing. However, we were the only ones, with support from a few allies that stood up and said enough. The world is all happy when we are just throwing money out to everyone but god forbid if we actually stand up and demand accountability.

Here is one more thought. When President Clinton left office President Bush did not turn and blame anything on him even though President Clinton did absolutely nothing to fight terrorism. Now that President Obama is in office he can do nothing wrong so let’s blame Bush. Get over it people. I would also like to say that instead of worrying about what the bad guys think worry about what they want to do to us. They do not care one bit if you are a bleeding heart liberal or a right wing nut in the end they want to see us all dead.
