The Harsh Reality Of Nature

I just saw a short clip on The Science Channel, where a pride of lions were feasting on a zebra – ripping out chunks, and the zebra was still thrashing around.

Oh, it’s dinner time on the east coast – bon appetit. :)

  1. There is a National Geographic Special called “The Last Feast of the Crocodiles” that is so surreal it seems like a sci-fi movie. A crocodile hole in Africa becomes the last place to get water during a drought. The animals are drawn to the water but the water is full of crocodiles. Diffucult to believe that is isn’t all special effects. Humans can be pretty barbaric but usually we kill something before we eat it.

    There was a PBS Nature episode on last night, called Murder in the Troop (IIRC). It featured this troop of baboons. At one point, they had to cross a croc-infested river to reach food on a treeless island. But in making the leap, the deposed ex-alpha male injured his hand, and didn’t have the ability to make the leap back…
